Exchange Policy

At Meenakshi Mukundha Times (MM Times), we are committed to delivering high-quality products and dependable services. Our Exchange Policy ensures a fair, transparent, and customer-friendly process when you need to replace an item that is damaged, defective, mismatched, or not functioning as expected.

This policy applies to all purchases made through:

  • www.mmtimes.in and our sub-domains,
  • MM Times Mart & ClothHub,
  • WhatsApp, Phone, Email-based orders,
  • Offline or in-person bookings.

Please read this policy carefully before raising an exchange request.

1. What Items Are Eligible for Exchange?

You may request an exchange if your product meets any of the following conditions:

βœ… 1.1 Damaged Item on Delivery

If you receive a product with visible damage, such as:

  • Broken parts
  • Cracks or dents
  • Torn packaging
  • Leakage (for fluids/components)

You are eligible for an exchange only if you report it within the allowed time window with proper evidence (see Section 6).

βœ… 1.2 Defective or Not Working

Exchange is allowed if the product has:

  • Functional defects
  • Not powering ON
  • Manufacturing faults
  • Missing essential parts

Note: For electronics, components, sensors, or mechanical items, we may first conduct troubleshooting/inspection to confirm the defect.

βœ… 1.3 Wrong Item Received

You can place an exchange request if:

  • The product delivered is not the one you ordered,
  • Quantity mismatch,
  • Wrong color/variant/model (if committed in order confirmation).

βœ… 1.4 Incomplete Product

If your product is missing:

  • Accessories,
  • Parts,
  • Attachments,
  • Cables, tools, manuals, etc.

We will exchange or replace the missing parts as needed.

2. Items Not Eligible for Exchange

Some products cannot be exchanged due to safety, customization, or usage reasons.

❌ 2.1 Custom-Made or Special Orders

No exchange for:

  • Personalized/custom-built products
  • Custom projects
  • Fabricated items
  • Made-to-order manufacturing
  • Customized sourcing items made specifically for your requirement

❌ 2.2 Software, Digital Goods & Online Services

This includes:

  • Design services (logo, web, branding)
  • Digital files or delivered content
  • App/website development once partially or fully delivered

❌ 2.3 Workshops, Training & Sessions

Exchanges cannot be claimed for:

  • Workshop participation
  • Training sessions
  • Event bookings
  • Consulting sessions

❌ 2.4 Items Damaged by Customer

Exchange is not allowed for products damaged due to:

  • Mishandling
  • Improper installation
  • Water/liquid damage
  • Burning or short-circuit caused by incorrect wiring
  • Unauthorized repair attempts
  • Physical damage after use

❌ 2.5 Hygiene-based & Consumable Items

If applicable:

  • Consumables
  • Chemicals
  • Gloves, clothing, wearable gear
  • Tools with direct-contact usage

Cannot be exchanged once used/opened.

3. Exchange Time Window

You must report the issue within:

  • 24 hours β†’ For damaged, missing parts, wrong item
  • 48 hours β†’ For defective or not working items

Requests beyond this timeline may not be eligible unless exceptional conditions apply.

4. Conditions for Exchange Approval

To qualify for an exchange:

  • Product must be in original condition.
  • Include all:
    • Accessories
    • Manuals
    • Packaging
    • Labels
    • Brand tags
  • No signs of use, scratches, burns, or internal damage caused by the customer.
  • The issue must be verifiable by:
    • Photos/videos
    • Inspection
    • Demonstration over call/video call
  • For high-value items, MM Times may require the product to be sent for testing before confirming the exchange.

5. Exchange Process (Step-by-Step)

Step 2 β€” Submit Evidence

Provide:

  • Clear photos/videos of the product
  • Packaging condition
  • Invoice/Order ID
  • Description of the issue

Step 3 β€” Verification

Our team will:

  • Inspect the evidence
  • Perform troubleshooting (if needed)
  • Confirm exchange eligibility

Step 4 β€” Exchange Approval

If approved:

  • A replacement will be arranged, or
  • Missing parts will be supplied, or
  • Pickup/return instructions will be given

Step 5 β€” Exchange Dispatch

Once the original product is collected or verified:

  • Replacement will be shipped, OR
  • Delivered in person (if applicable)

6. Important Notes

πŸ“Œ 6.1 Exchange Is Free Only If the Fault Is Genuine

If the product is found fully functional and not defective:

  • Pickup/shipping charges will be collected,
  • Or the exchange may be declined.

πŸ“Œ 6.2 Packaging Condition Matters

Severely damaged or discarded packaging may delay or deny exchange unless the item itself qualifies as defective.

Depends on:

  • Stock availability
  • Supplier lead time
  • Location

πŸ“Œ 6.4 Only One Exchange Per Order

Multiple or repeated exchange requests for the same product are not allowed.

7. Special Cases

7.1 Electronics, Sensors, Robotics Components

Exchange allowed only after technical verification.

7.2 Large/Heavy Appliances

Inspection may be scheduled before approving exchange.

7.3 Custom Fabrication & Manufacturing

No direct exchange unless:

  • A clear manufacturing defect is proven
  • And confirmed by inspection

8. Exchange for Products Under Warranty

If an item develops a fault after the exchange window but is within the warranty period:

  • Warranty terms will apply (repair/replace depending on case)
  • Exchange may not be provided unless approved under warranty conditions
  • Inspection is compulsory

9. Customer Responsibilities

To ensure quick processing, the customer must:

  • Report issues on time
  • Provide accurate evidence
  • Maintain packaging until exchange confirmation
  • Cooperate during troubleshooting/inspection
  • Not misuse or damage the product intentionally or accidentally

10. MM Times Rights & Limitations

MM Times reserves the right to:

  • Approve or decline exchange based on evidence
  • Request additional verification
  • Charge logistics/handling fees if misuse is suspected
  • Modify or update this policy at any time
